What is IPM (intergraded pest management)?
Intergraded pest management (IPM) is a philosophy that promotes the collection of field-specific information to make rational pest management decisions.
The goal of IPM is to limit the use/or amounts of chemical pesticides in situations where biological, mechanical, or physiological control measures can accomplish the same results. Knowledge of the life cycle of the pest(s), of the host(s), and the interaction of environmental factors that trigger increases in pest activity and increases in host susceptibility are crucial to implementing a successful integrated pest management program.
